We are raising funds to help us keep our classes running!
Extra funding will go towards opening new classes to reach even more people in our community
Move Momentum is a local charity based in Winchester that aims to make dance accessible to everyone. We provide weekly dance classes for young people, older adults and people with disabilities.
We believe that dance is for everyone. We strive to make this a reality.
We need your support so that we can continue running these classes. We have had a difficult year financially, so our classes are unfortunately at risk. Our classes are so important to all who attend and are so much more than just a dance class, they are a support network, a community and place to be themselves and have fun. Last year, we successfully ran a Crowdfunder campaign to save our classes from closing due to the pandemic, but this year due to a lack of grants being awarded to our charity, classes are in danger again. We are still on our way to recovery after COVID, which had a significant negative impact on our finances.
The money will be used to keep our GEMS (over 65s), Liberate (wheelchair users) and Academy (11-16 year olds) classes running. £2000 will help us to keep all of our classes running for another year.
Each of our classes are doing their own activity to help to raise funds over the month:
Liberate Dance - Travelling a marathon in a week
GEMS - Winnall are putting on an oboe performance and Weeke are donating their weekly coffee for the month
Academies - 10k Scavenger Hunt around Winchester
Amanda (CEO) - Plank Challenge
Keeleigh (Fundraising Officer) - Walking the Great Barrier Reef Challenge (100 miles)
