We are aiming to raise £7000 to keep our classes running!

Move Momentum is a local charity based in Winchester that aims to make dance accessible to everyone. We provide weekly dance classes for young people, older adults and people with disabilities.
We believe that dance is for everyone. We strive to make this a reality.
We need your support so that we can continue running these classes. We have had a difficult year financially, so our classes are unfortunately at risk. Our classes are so important to all who attend and are so much more than just a dance class, they are a support network, a community and a place to be themselves and have fun.
Due to the cost of living crisis, a lot of our costs have increased, putting a strain on our funds. We also have not received as much funding through grants as we were hoping, so have been relying on our other sources of income such as class and workshop fees, which we still keep low so they are affordable for our participants. We are hoping to increase our workshop offerings in the next year, to decrease our reliance on grant funding; but first we need your help this month to keep going!
Last year, we successfully ran a Crowdfunder campaign to save our classes from closing due to a lack of grants being awarded to our charity, but this year our circumstances have not improved enough, so our classes are in danger again.
The money will be used to keep our GEMS (over 65s) and Liberate (wheelchair users) classes running. £7000 will help us to keep all of our classes running for another year, plus give us the opportunity to expand. This year we are keen to start a new GEMS class due to the demand on this service, a new class for people with Parkinson's and a fresh youth provision to replace our Academies project, which will finish this year.
Each of our classes are doing their own activity to help to raise funds over the month:
Liberate Dance - Danceathon (at the University of Southampton) and an online quiz (organised by our administrator Lizzie)
GEMS - Afternoon tea event and a jumble sale
Academies - 10k fancy dress walk
Amanda (CEO) & Luke (Volunteer) - Running a half-marathon
Keeleigh (Fundraising Officer & Dance Teacher) - Bake sale (at the University of Winchester) and virtual murder mystery event
