To support people experiencing street homelessness to find a safe, affordable home and get their lives permanently back on track

From Homelessness to Hope!

We don't believe anyone should be sleeping on the streets and at The Bus Shelter MK we provide a temporary home for people who find themselves in that position in Milton Keynes. But we don't stop there!  We work with our guests to remove the barriers to resolving their homelessness.  This might be obtaining a bank account or ID, resolving debt, accessing medical services, getting benefits or finding work - and most importantly making them feel valued as an individual and with hopes and dreams like anyone else.  We then help our guests find an affordable home, furnished with the basics  and continue to provide friendship and support as long as they need us.  The experienced one-to one emotional and practical support we provide is totally reliant on donations from people like you. Without this professional support, built around the needs of the individual, it is extremely hard for someone to resolve their homelessness and regain an independent life.  

 Recent figures show a huge number of people in the UK are now just ONE pay packet away from homelessness and  1 in 10 private renters are at serious risk of being evicted through no fault of their own.   We are sadly having to turn desperate people away almost every day and are urgently looking at options to increase the 21 bedrooms we currently have available.  More bed spaces will mean additional support costs ... we really could use your help!
