To raise funds to support more people to get outdoors and enjoying walking as a group, find friendships and support networks

Maggie walked weekly with Move More Glossop’s Thursday women’s group (funded by The Bureau) from Feb 2022 right up until the day before she suffered a stroke in Feb 2025.
The group fondly named their walks ‘Miles of Stiles with lots of Smiles’ and Maggie certainly brought lots of those with her humour, her outlook on life, her hilltop tai chi demos, her tears of excitement at seeing a mountain hare and her joy at every trig she bagged and summit she conquered.
“Maggie has touched us all in her life, with her wisdom, her clarity, kindness and downright insightful comments. Her legacy has been to show us that life is for fighting, taming and understanding and she can now ascend to her next level of spirit consciousness. With luck, Maggie will greet us in the guise of a mountain hare overlooking any of our journeys we undertake on Bleaklow in the future”. (Jilly, a group member)
