Welcome to our Crowdfunder! Thank you so much for taking the time to look through our page and get to know our film!

Mourning Glories follows Debbie Douglas, a mortuary assistant. Debbie spends all of her time preparing bodies for funerals - unfortunately, she has forgotten to live herself...

Debbie gains a new perspective on life after meeting Peter, a devoted husband and widower who barges into her workplace.

Debbie Dougla1699399006_1699399005825.pngs is our main character. She is a diligent mortuary assistant, the best in her field. She prepares bodies for funerals – from embalming to cosmetology. There is nothing she can’t do - Except socialise. She is not very good at that. Well... nobody is perfect!

1699444313_untitled_artwork_copy.pngPeter Mahoney was a dedicated husband; he loved his wife. How is he supposed to live without her now? What’s a life without love?

1699399500_1699399500157.pngKate Mahoney was a woman loved by all in the community. She was active, beautiful, intelligent. Her passing was a shock to all, especially to her devoted husband Peter. Rest in Peace.

Message from the writer/director:

I promise you we will deliver this film with sincerity, love, and care.

In this story, Debbie learns that she is worth more than what she can give to other people. She deserves love too.

If this sentiment resonates with you, please consider joining us on our journey :)

This film explores the idea of balancing both work and personal life. Asking the question; can women really "have it all"? Does that woman even exist?

This film will also approach its setting - the mortuary - with celebration and care! Many people work tirelessly in this field, we want to highlight this dedication... unlike how most media portrays it (scary, unnerving, cold)

As you can see from our video without your donations our film set will be constructed out of cardboard boxes and masking tape... We NEED your help!

Your donations will go towards the funding for our actors that will bring our characters to life (Sorry Kate..) as well as being able to offer them a nice hotel, meals and cover their travel costs. Our actors are a very high priority within our budget, without them our film can not be successful. We aim to give them the best care that we can however, this is subject to our budget.

Set Build and Production Design is extremely important for this project, and almost half our budget is dedicated to it. We have decided to build Debbie's lab in a studio. We have access to state of the art camera, lighting, and studio spaces. That means a LOT of our energy will be put into making the set as wonderful as possible!

(We are interviewing Mortuary Assistants and visiting morgues to get a more accurate depiction of this working environment)
