Motus Dance Academy

Aim: A space where young people can learn street dance as a new skill, whilst building a group where they belong and are empowered.
Who are we?
Motus Dance Academy is a street dance academy for 11-18 year olds of all experiences and abilities. We teach street, break and hip-hop. The lessons are fun, interactive and high energy and suitable for all levels of ability.
Community impact
A Lack of access to affordable dance classes and Motus helps reduce the following.
- Poor mental health
- Social isolation as result of Covid
- School stress
- Support – both from peers and trusted adults outside of family
Why are we crowdfunding?
To have two Dance instructors and for there to be good quality professional youth work, so young people learn to dance, but also are holistically supported through the challenges of life. There will be a 10 week self esteem course run alongside the dance session.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The funds will be spent on the cost of the Dance instructors/Youth Workers. Snacks and drinks for the dancers and a contribution towards heating the building to provide a warm space.
