Aim
Motiv8 want to provide safe, free, warm, caring spaces for young people aged 9 up to 25 across our local communities.
Who are we?
Motiv8 is a youth charity which supports children, young people and their families across our local communities. In the last 20 years we have supported more than 20,000 young people to overcome the challenges they face and connected them with opportunities to thrive.
Community impact
Young people are telling us they need long-term safe support in order to thrive and the right support at the right time. We are responding to this need by focussing our efforts to create a long term and meaningful path of support for vulnerable young people in the communities we serve. The difference we make is that more young people will feel listened to without fear of judgement. They will feel empowered to make changes. They will feel that they have the tools to improve their lives. Our community-based support creates inclusion and belonging, we know when we exclude and isolate people from society, families, school this has a detrimental impact. Their success will permeate with other young people as they see their peers making improvements and the community will feel safer. We will continue to build positive partnerships in our communities and work collaboratively to help improve services.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are experiencing a a huge increase in the numbers of children, young people and families who need to eat within our open access projects, youth clubs, hubs and drop-in activities as well as during their weekly mentoring sessions. Many more families are seeking support and are struggling with rent and utilities. Young people are living with the anxiety of poverty and the added worry of being cold this winter.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Support through this crowdfunding campaign will help us to meet this years increased costs for our free, open access, warm safe spaces for young people and families which are open for more than 40 hours each week. It will enable us to continue to serve hot and healthy food to all young people.
This project successfully funded on 27th February 2023
