Aim

Audwin lives two lives. Soon, it will catch up with him. Mother/Land is a piece of new writing exploring freedom, speech and silence.

ABOUT US:

Mother/Land is an upcoming theatre production directed by Zoë Wells and written by Eilish Mullane (who's also writing this, hello!). It's a piece of work we're really proud of, that focuses on a fascinating and heartbreaking part of Berlin's history where ordinary people were forced to spy on, deceive and implicate their loved ones.

Audwin transcribes the words of better men, distributing them around a newly-divided city, but rebellion comes at a price. As the Stasi close in, Audwin must decide who he can really trust, and how he can keep them safe.

This is especially exciting for us as it will be the first production we put on as part of our newly established theatre company, Uproar Theatre Ltd. Uproar consists of Zoë and myself and aims to provide a platform for East Anglian actors, writers and directors to develop fresh and challenging theatre.

WHAT YOUR MONEY WILL DO:

The money raised will go towards:

- venue costs

- actors fees

- props

- set

It will also help us kick start our business, allowing us to create revenue from:

- merchandise sales

- comissioning exclusive artwork

- ticket sales

OPPORTUNITY AND EQUALITY

We are committed to creating fair and paid opportunities for artists in East Anglia.

This means:

- paying actors ITC pay rates

- accommodating artists from all backgrounds

- creating opportunities for marginalised voices

- creating work for the community

Both Zoë and myself would be extremely thankful if you could give as much or as little as you like towards getting a really poignant piece of local theatre on the stage, to allow us not only to share the work but to show a network of similar artists that it is possible if we all support each other.

Thank you.
