To raise funds for the Berber Village of my friend Amina, whose home has been destroyed by the Atlas Mountains earthquake in Morocco.

Hi folks,

This past year, me and my partner Steph were lucky enough to visit Morocco.  Whilst there, we went on various excursions, but our favourite took place within the Atlas Mountains, visiting the incredible Berber Villages with help from our amazing guide, Amina. Amina was bubbly, fun and caring and did everything she could to make our experience enjoyable, as she proudly showed us her homeland. Her little corner of paradise.

It was with great regret that I have heard her paradise has now been destroyed, by the recent Atlas Mountains earthquake.

During a WhatsApp exchange I had to check on Amina's welfare after the quake, I was heartbroken to hear her home is now rubble, that her mother is 50/50 to survive in hospital, and that some of her friends and family have yet to be recovered. Amina is so gentle and kind, so hearing her voice, shaking and crying in shock and dismay will live with me forever. It would be wrong for me just to hear that and do nothing. I have promised her I will act in whatever small way I can.

Therefore, to start I am beginning a Crowdfunder to try and help in any way I can, be that paying for healthcare in the immediate term, or shelter or later the rebuilding of homes - literally anything I/we can to help Amina and her community. I cannot express how kind she was when we were in holiday, and just how lovely a woman she is. I am not a charity and this any funds raised may be liable to tax: however this is moot just now, the key here is to raise anything I can, with your help, to aid Amina and her community to begin to cope and get through this awful tragedy.

I have never Crowdfunder before, and thus this page may seem a bit raggedy compared to some.'official' fundraisers - nevertheless this effort is purely from the heart, as I hope to help a friend and those closest to her recover from something complete unimaginable.

I'll update as I go, but anything anyone can give...it'll all go to a worthy, needy, grateful cause

Thanks and love,

Matt
