We’re hoping to revamp the Parish Hall kitchen, and we need your help!
Why are we doing this?
We're involved with a new project called Nourishing Dartmoor, all about reducing food insecurity and supporting fair access to healthy foods. As part of this, we’re aiming to transform the old and inadequate Parish Hall kitchen into a brand-new, fit for purpose Community Kitchen.
What's the vision?
This should be a space for all the community to come together and access affordable and healthy food right here in Moretonhampstead. We’ll be making it the base for a North-East Dartmoor food hub, and hoping to enhance what the affordable food club offer too – this means that on top of coming to pick up your usual bag of food for only £5, the team can run cooking demonstrations and more too.
We've got so many exciting ideas of what we'd like to do with this space; think opportunities like cooking clubs, classes, catering for events, as well as of course being used by all of you who access the Parish Hall, whether you’re a local business, a community group or an individual.
Why do we need your help?
This is a big project involving buying and fitting new white goods, work surfaces, boilers, ovens and more. That's why we need the support and donations of our amazing community to get this off the ground. We’re aiming to raise £10,000 towards the complete redesign of the kitchen; we know it’s a big target, but anything you can give, whether big or small, would be greatly appreciated.
Let’s make a new community space together.
