Moor Lane - More Space! We aim to create and enhance the Youth Club space for more sports and leisure activities.

 New stretch target

Improve remaining outdoor space for Winter use (eg awnings and removable cover) in a cost effective manner- we would like to enspire other community organisations in the area to utilise their outdoor space in a more flexible and productive way. Invest more in conservation areas Solar Panelling and Heat Pump.

Who are we?

Moor Lane Club caters for Primary & Secondary School children providing sports, leisure, craft and social activities in a fun, warm and relaxed environment!

Why are we crowdfunding?

After lengthy consultation with all levels of the community, a clear consensus has emerged: The current shared community space is too small and cannot cater for multiple and varied events happening at once.
We aim to enhance and expand the dedicated Youth Space area for the use of the young people. This will help us1691104646_1691104645312.png utilise all the equipment and to increase the amount of Table Tennis, Table Football, Snooker, Air Hockey and Darts allowing more kids to be involved and for longer hours each week!

How we’ll spend the money raised

We aim to build a rear single storey extension to create an area with flexible space with folding panelling when used together with the current hall to allow us to increase and upgrade the quality of our provision and allow us to invest in better equipment and facilities.
Adding disabled toilets.
Creating an outdoor area for barbecues and outdoor play.
We aim to use energy conservation approaches in the upgrade.

Community impact

Apart from increasing the time slots that the sports equipment can be used. Having a dedicated area for the Youth Group will enable the young people to socialise, connect in their own space both in their peer to peer events  and in the weekly multi-generational events.

The Community Centre is also a focal point for many annual events, seminars & special celebrations for the whole community. The upgraded space would allow us to expand the current range of activities on offer. Particularly we would like to focus on introducing initiatives with mental health support needs.

Testimonials:

One of the High School boys reflected on the Summer events, “It was good to play against my mates, I enjoyed the company and the banter. It was nice to cool off by the river with a barbecue. The Club gave me something to look forward to. I enjoy the company of the boys and it keeps me off the streets!”

One of the grandmothers: “My grandchildren have been so excited to participate in the different events put on by the Club... Especially keeping in touch with friends from different schools - a real positive to have that time to socialise in a warm environment.”

A High School Girl: I loved how a lot of the girls are different ages and in different schools from me which was so nice. I loved speaking to the girls and making friends with them. I also loved the amazing trips which were so fun. It definitely gave everyone something to look forward to. My favourite was when we went ice skating and bowling because everyone looked after everyone else which was so nice.”

We have big dreams for our future, and by donating, you will be part of our journey and help us hit the ground running!

Thank you!
