Aim: Hello! We need your help to make sure that Montol shines as brightly as ever. Help us keep the flame alight.
So, what is Montol?
Montol is not so much a cultural revival as a complete re-imagining
of the old traditions of the twelve days of christmas
guize dancing and the mock (our yule log)
a living, breathing and evolving legacy unique to us, here in Penwith.
Montol really is a community Festival – each component is fully autonomous – there’s nothing prescribed or proscribed … within reason.
How all the participants, planning, making and practicing in secret,
just turn up and spontaneously put on such a magnificent party …
is a mystery.
But it happens every year on the same day, rain or moon-shine.
This year we need your help.
This year Montol is on the last Saturday before Christmas (eeek!) so we have to have more grown up stewarding arrangements and this costs money!
We need to raise at least £1200.00 so that everyone who comes to take part is safe and well looked after.
And, as a thank you for your contribution we will send you a limited edition Montol 24 badge - but get in quick as we really do have a limited number of these!
