Aim FlyingSmiles is on a mission to bring a surgery on wheels to more communities that are deprived of dental services.
Help Flying Smiles Get On the Road With a Purpose-Built Mobile Treatment Room!!
Hi, I’m Fiona Perry, founder of FlyingSmiles mobile Dental Hygiene Service - the first of its kind in Scotland.
We currently provide professional dental care wherever needed, including residential homes, schools, community settings and private appointments across Perthshire and beyond, including the Uists.
We want our services to reach as many people as possible and to do that we are launching a fundraising campaign to raise £50,000 for a fully equipped and wheelchair accessible van - The Molar Express.
The mobile clinic will be essential for helping us reach more people who would benefit from accessible dental care without the stress and inconvenience of having to travel to distant dental surgeries.
Flying Smiles wants to show the dental world that we can support communities by going to them.
We travel to where help is needed, bringing calm, friendly dental hygiene support to those who might otherwise miss out.
However, to provide the very best care, we now need to level up our mobile base.
Why now? While we are already operating, we know that with the right van that is reliable, purpose-built and wholly owned, we can increase the number of appointments we offer and support even more communities across the whole of Scotland.
This first phase covers the cost fitting out the truck (Molar Express!).
Future phases will help us pay for equipment maintenance and providing a service to vulnerable groups.
