MLCE: Inspiring Change, Creating new possibilities for young people and the local community.
MLCE are adapting our sports hall and kitchen facilities to help tackle food poverty in Lambeth and the local community.
We are housing and collaborating with 2 food poverty non-profits that will directly support Covid-19 hardship, providing food and essential items to those in need.
'Compliments of the House' are set up in the ML Sports Hall and are now collecting, purchasing, packaging and delivering parcels of food and essential items to vulnerable people across Lambeth.
'Cook to Care' will be on site too, cooking and distributing ready-meals from the kitchen facilities which must be significantly upgaded to house Cook to Care and help them meet the needs of the most vulnerable and food deprived in the borough.
Both projects will be serving beneficiaries throughout Lambeth and the local area, reaching a combined 200-300 households each week.
Throughout Covid-19, MLCE have continued our work with vulnerable young people and families, providing telephone therapeutic work, key working and information, advice and guidance for vulnerable young people.
We need your help to support this vital work. We need to rasie funds towards kitchen upgrades, overheads and essentials that will support MLCE to continue delivering these services and be responsive to the changing needs brought on by the Covid-19 crisis.
With Sincere Thanks
MLCE
