Mission Manali Strays

Aim

UK Vet Nurses Worldwide are sending Vet Nurses to Manali, India, to work alongside the amazing team at Manali Strays.

UK Vet Nurses Worldwide is a small, volunteer-led charity dedicated to improving animal welfare through education, hands-on training, and teamwork. We send vet nurses to collaborate with organisations and together, we share knowledge, exchange ideas, and build skills to support safe, sustainable veterinary care.

The charity was founded after I volunteered abroad and saw first-hand the challenges faced by veterinary teams working with limited equipment, medication, and training opportunities. What struck me most was their dedication and compassion — they were doing everything they could for the animals in their care.

UK Vet Nurses Worldwide was founded to support that dedication. By sharing  training and experience we help strengthen local teams and improve animal welfare standards that last long after our visit.

September, a team of veterinary nurses will be travelling to Manali, India, to work alongside the amazing team at Manali Strays. Together, we’ll provide care for street dogs and cats while sharing skills and knowledge with them.

During our visit we will,  

Assist with spay and neuter surgeries to help manage the local stray population

Support the team with medical treatments and wound care and share nursing skills and protocols 

All our nurses volunteer their time, but we’re raising funds to cover flights, accommodation, and essential supplies. By supporting this project, you’re helping us to improve animal welfare sustainably, work with local teams and creating lasting impact in Manali and beyond.
