Neurodivergent. Misunderstood. On a Mission to Make Diagnosis Accessible for All, Help Me Get Qualified to Give Families ADHD Answers
Help Me Make ADHD Diagnosis More Accessible for Families Like Mine
I’m Allison Rose-Mannall — a qualified CBT therapist, parent confidence coach, and SEND mum on a mission to bring faster, more compassionate ADHD diagnosis to those who’ve spent years feeling misunderstood.
Why I’m Fundraising
I’m raising funds to complete a certified course in ADHD assessment and screening, so I can help reduce the agonising wait that so many families face — especially those of neurodivergent children and late-diagnosed adults.
This course will give me the tools to:
✅ Complete professional ADHD assessments for adults
✅ Support families with accurate, compassionate reports
✅ Refer individuals to medication titration providers with confidence
✅ Offer affordable, trauma-informed guidance.
✅ Train others and build awareness in schools and local services
Target: £800
Raised so far: £140
My Story: Why This Matters So Much
I’ve always known my brain was wired differently.
At school, I was labelled disruptive, lazy, too chatty, too emotional, and “too much.” I left home at 17. I’ve lived through abuse, trauma, chronic illness, and raising three neurodivergent children while navigating the system with no roadmap. For years, I didn’t have the words for what I was experiencing — just the shame of not fitting in.
It wasn’t until I was in my 50s that I finally received my ADHD diagnosis.
Everything suddenly made sense.
All the times I’d dropped the ball, hyperfocused, burnt out, over-apologised, over-compensated… they weren’t personal failings — they were symptoms of a misunderstood, unsupported brain. And I knew right then: I didn’t want other people to have to go through decades of struggle like I did.
From Pain to Purpose
I’ve spent the last few years creating safe spaces for SEND parents through my work, delivering free community events, therapy, and holistic support. I’ve launched emotional wellbeing kits, trauma-informed workshops, and confidence coaching — all built around one belief:
You are not broken. You’ve just been surviving in a world that wasn’t built for you.
Now I want to take this one step further by becoming a certified ADHD assessor — so I can offer practical, clinical, and deeply empathetic reports to help others get the answers and support they deserve.
No more gaslighting. No more decades of “maybe.” No more being passed from pillar to post.
Why This Training Is So Important
Once qualified, I will:
✔️ Offer ADHD assessments to adults and parents
✔️ Provide affordable access to support for those on low income or waiting lists
✔️ Help more families get the diagnosis pathway they need to access services
✔️ Create toolkits and workshops for schools, parents and carers
✔️ Be part of changing the conversation around neurodiversity
