Mirren Mile, is a passionate fan-driven initiative, set to transform Greenhill Road and the approaches to St Mirren Park.

In Association with

WEST STAND PAINTING PROJECT 2022

We want to promote our famous club to every road user of Greenhill Road and help generate an electrifying pre-match atmosphere, Mirren Mile will be designed to increase the anticipation of an exciting match, rally Saints supporters, and hopefully help improve our team's performance by creating a sense of pride, place and purpose where it counts… on the park!
With the goal of enhancing the matchday experience for everyone, Mirren Mile will form a vibrant route to the stadium, becoming a beacon and stamping the St Mirren and Paisley brand firmly on the approaches to our home.
As a group we have paid for and been granted planning permission from Renfrewshire Council to make Mirren Mile a reality.

LOCATION PLAN

Visiting supporters will know they are in Paisley. Visitors from far and wide will experience the commitment of Buddies to the team in the famous black and white stripes: our colours and our story will inspire our fans and players.
We will help create an atmosphere charged with enthusiasm, camaraderie, and shared passion.
*VISUAL EXAMPLE

The Mirren Mile will be more than a physical location. Walking it, driving it, even passers by will understand the fusion of supporters’ dedication, community spirit, our incredible history and desire to triumph over all-comers.
As supporters travel this St Mirren route, they will be met with an array of inspiring signage, carefully curated to amplify pre-match expectation and excitement, thereby creating a sense of place and purpose that will have a positive impact on the team's performance.
*VISUAL EXAMPLE

Mirren Mile will showcase our impressive history, Legends of the Club, Past Honours, Our Youth Academy, Woman/Girls Team and of course our fans! It will be a symbol of unity, and stand testament to the unwavering dedication of St Mirren supporters and wider St.Mirren Family. Together, we will enjoy an unbreakable bond, where the passion of the Buddies fuels the success of our team, as it has done since 1877.
*VISUAL EXAMPLE

As with all projects of this scale the only limit to our ambition is money. Mirren Mile project will require financial support to make it a reality.
As passionate fans, we are committed to achieving the utmost quality and longevity for what will be a quality project, created to endure for at least the next decade.

We will deliver Mirren Mile when we have secured the full amount of £7000 and the campaign will remain live for as long as it takes us to reach this target. This covers the full cost of Materials, Secure Fittings, graphic design and installation by an accredited firm. If we stretch beyond our target the additional funds will go into the Marching On fund to either maintain the projects we have delivered to date or help fund future projects. As well as asking for support from our Supporters, the group are also in the process of seeking other revenue streams and are welcome to any Business owners who wish to support this project.
*Please note, Visual examples are just to give you an idea of the estimated size and locations of the banners, these are not the final designs that will be produced.

DESIGN IDEAS
The group will be working with Graphic designers to make sure the final production is delivered at the highest possible standard. In total there will be mounts on 15 Lamppost's throughout Greenhill Road. Some initial ideas to highlight our Clubs History and the St.Mirren family are in the images below. A decision on the final 15 designs will be made between the collaboration of the Group, Supporters and the Club in due course. We have purposely selected a banner type that will be easily interchangeable to support future projects such as European football nights at a fraction of the initial delivery.

Who are Marching On?
Marching On group was formed in 2022 by an array of like-minded St.Mirren fans from all sections our Support with the Mission of creating a more vibrant and exciting Match day experience for every Buddie that attends our home games.
Are you a Registered Organisation?
We are not a Registered Organisation, as we are non-Profit group of Volunteers and any funds we receive immediately goes into any project we are working on.
What happens if you don't reach the £7000 target?
There is no deadline for us to reach this target, although we are hopeful to have reached it before the end of the season. If we do not reach the full funds via this page, we will actively seek local funding outside of our immediate Supporters similar to how we funded the West Stand Painting Project. In short the campaign will stay active for as long as it takes us to reach our goal. If in the unlikely Scenario 1 year on from today and we have not met the threshold for all 15 banners, we do have the option of reducing the amount of banners we will install as the planning permission will remain in place, however this scenario is a worst case.
Are the Club supportive of Mirren Mile?
Short answer is yes, although the club have not been involved in getting us to this point, they have been fully informed of our intensions. This has been in planning stages for several months and the Club has remained in the loop throughout.
Will the group receive all funds raised on Crowd funder?
No, like all Crowdfunding platforms there is a fee for the service. Crowd funder charges a transaction fee of 2.4% +20p plus VAT.
What are the details of the planning permission?
Some months ago representatives from the Group met with both the road and street works planners of Renfrewshire Council to outline our plans. Although advertising consent on Lampposts is usually not allowed, the Council have made a special exemption in our case as they understand how it will bring a lift to the whole of the area and not just benefit our Club. The planning permission was completed by members of our group free of charge and it cost £300 to submit. Full details can be found on Renfrewshire Council page under Proposal Reference 100633970.
Why is your target £3500 with the Project costing £7000?
When we planned this project we took into consideration the number of Season Ticket holders we have, the cost of living crisis and what we thought would be a realistic initial target for us to aim for with our fans Support. With around 3500 season ticket holders we based our initial target on £1 per Season Ticket. The remaining funds where planned to be raised via additional fund raising such as Race nights, bucket collections and local business sponsorship. Although we purposely avoided asking for fans donations for our Painting Project we knew with the scope of Mirren Mile asking for supporter donations would be unavoidable. It is worth noting that we set an initial estimated fund raising timeline of between 6 to 12 months to give us the best possible chance to be able to deliver this on behalf of our whole Town.
When does the Crowd funder end?
The Crowdfunding on this website is due to end on the morning of 1 December 2023, we may have the option of extending this deadline if required. Other Crowdfunding elements away from this website does not have a firm end date.
What happens if you raise over £7000?
The £7000 figure is a fairly accurate estimate, but it is an estimate at this stage, so there is some wiggle room for us to go under and over this figure in order to deliver Mirren Mile. Any funds left over from the project will be used to either maintain our projects to date or if funds allow it may kick start our next project. Rest assured every single penny raised will be used for the Benefit of the Club Supporters and the Paisley Community.

This project successfully funded on 1st December 2023
