Mirfield Parish CCC - Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Aim

Raise funds for essential club improvements to make up for the shortfall in fundraising opportunities / loss of income due to COVID-19

History 

Mirfield Cricket Club as it was then known was formed in 1880 playing at Primrose Farm. In 1919 the original club disbanded and Mirfield Parish Church Cricket Club was born.

Recently the club joined the Huddersfield league after the Central Yorkshire Cricket League disbanded.  The club gained back to back promotions in their first two seasons after joining in 2016 and later gained promotion as champions of the championship in 2019. Also winning the t20 shield 2017. The club is now in the championship hoping to jump straight back in to the Premiership. 

The club is proud to promote junior cricket in the area and has a number of qualified coaches to bring on the next generation. During the summer months junior cricket can be seen each day of the week from the under 9's to the under 15's. 

Aim 

Due to the pandemic the club experienced a decrease in funding and sponsorship, this impacted the running of the club for both the junior and senior sections. 

The aim of the event is to raise additional fuds to improve the facilities available for both the junior and senior teams. 

This includes and not limited to:

Practice Equipment 

Junior Playing Equipment

Ground Maintenance 

The upkeep and maintenance of the facilities 

Running of match days 

How

A group of the senior and junior members are walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on Saturday 2nd April. 

Any donation given will help the club in reaching its goal.

This will be shown in the club through out the cricket season. 

Player Sponsor - £50-£150

This will be shown in the clubhouse 12 months of the year on the dedicated sponsor TV's which are located at the bar.
