The children and parents of St Mary’s Primary School, Dunblane are raising funds to refurbish Millrow Play Park. Stirling Council have confirmed they will identify funding to replace the the train (with a yet to be chosen piece of equipment of a similar size). They have also committed to funding the ground work and installation for the smaller pieces of equipment we are raising funds for. We are looking to raise funds for two to four pieces of smaller equipment.
We believe the project will bring multiple benefits to the Dunblane community, including:
- Enhancing the functionality and use of the park - a fun place to spend time on a range of play equipment,
- Increase opportunities for social contact for children and families,
- Reduce current issues with vandalism/damage linked to the current tired looking equipment,
- Increase footfall around the High Street benefiting local business, our local cafes and shops,
- Provide an opportunity for the children of St Mary's Nursery and Primary School to learn about community engagement and the importance of supporting their local community (responsible citizens).
We require to raise a minimum of £15,000 for these smaller pieces of equipment, one of which will be an accessible roundabout to make the environment more user friendly for children with additional needs.
We are raising funds through grant funding applications and asking the local Dunblane community, and local businesses, to donate via this crowdfunding page.
