Aim

Every community needs a hall, especially one on an island. Help us revive the Millport Town Hall into a community asset for years to come.

Our Story

Every community needs a hall, especially one on an island. This project will provide a building for our community and visitors with lasting social and economic benefits for years to come.

Our beautiful island is a place of nostalgia and peace. Many visitors come to revisit their heritage or recharge their batteries. The community has no hall, and our historic Town Hall is closed and needing repair.

The Town Hall was closed in 2016 due to lack of basic maintenance and repair.  This had a big impact on groups who used this building and since then the Island has been struggling with the lack of a suitable large venue.

It's time to come together to re-vitalise the hall into a community space for everyone to enjoy.

Why are we Crowdfunding?

We've been on an incredible journey so far, but we're now at the final push!

We've been incredibly lucky to raise over £2 million pounds through the likes of Scottish Government, the National Lottery Fund & North Ayrshire Council, however all these funds are ring fenced. Everything raised so far must go towards the repairs and construction work for the Millport Town Hall.

We now need your help at this crucial time to keep the project alive! As a charity we have running costs such as insurance, utility bills and unavoidable fees which need paid.

Your donations will also go towards furnishing our magnificent new Town Hall once it has been built. As you can imagine, we'll need teaspoons, tea pots, coffee cups, tables, microphones, keyboards, computers, carpets & MUCH MUCH MORE!

If you are going to chose a time to support the regeneration of our town hall building, now is the time. Get involved and help us create a special place for our community.

Our Vision

Our vision is to take this historic building and turn it into a vibrant and sustainable community asset. The Millport Town Hall will be run by the community, for the community.

Our Feasibility Study has been followed by concept designs and a business plan which together demonstrate how this building could be used for both social and economic benefit.  1628522519_10.png

Our architect's design allows for maximum use of space simultaneously to create a vibrant, welcoming building open to all.

1. A Heritage and Millport Memories Centre to include a Conservation Area

2. An Arts and Culture Centre with fantastic performance space that can also be used for recreational purposes

3. A Community Space

4. Space for Classes & Creative Activities

5. Three x Holiday rental flats for income purposes

6. Spaces of varying sizes for lets

8. The capability to offer wedding and conference facilities

9. The capability for large ticketed events

10. A modern fitted community kitchen

Over the years there have been many consultations with individuals and groups to understand how the community would like to use the Town Hall. We're so pleased with the end design and believe it will be the perfect space for the community to enjoy.

It has also incorporated means of making sustainable income streams so the community will benefit for years to come.
