Millbrook Christmas Market is an annual event with 2024 being our 4th year. We began in 2021 with 15 stalls and this has grown each year; this year we have received over 60 stallholder enquiries!
Our ethos has always been to be open to all and we are very passionate about our community and supporting local businesses, crafters and artists of all abilities. We welcome everyone and ensure that there is a variety of stalls for every budget so that people are encouraged to shop locally within our community during the festive period.
We also offer reach out and offer stalls to all local charities/CIC's within our village to enable them to have a platform to fundraise for their organisations too as many do not have the opportunity to arrange this otherwise.
As always, we organise this Christmas Market on a voluntary basis and are strictly non-profit. Kirstie and Fran dedicate a large amount of time in planning this event and do not take a fee for this, nor do we have a business ourselves to benefit in any way.
After operational costs, any remaining monies is donated to a local charity; Millbrook Preschool.
Due to the increasing size of this event there is no venue in the village large enough anymore to accommodate all of our stallholders! We have therefore had to secure permission from our Parish Council to use their land and will this year have the Village Hall Car Park and main internal function room of the Village Hall as our event venue! Because of this we require adequate shelter from event marquees.
With the logistical footprint getting larger every year, we urgently need to invest in Two marquees in order to keep this event going for the future and to provide a better atmosphere for stallholders and members of the public alike. These are £500 each and we require weights to help secure them so we are needing to raise circa £1200
So that we do not have to take this cost out of our fundraising efforts, we would warmly welcome any donations towards this.
