To raise funds for the RSPCA Vet Clinic in Colchester which helps pet owners facing financial hardship
Hi. This is Milo, a beautiful, happy, loyal and wonderful little dog from Clacton on Sea, Essex. Sadly, at just 10 years old, Milo lost his battle against liver disease and cancer earlier in September. His loving owner, Lena and her family were really touched by the care and support given by Megan and her team at the RSPCA Clinic in Colchester and decided they'd like to do something fantastic to help the clinic and preserve the memory of Milo.
During the month of October, Lena along with her daughter Freya, son Louie and sister Trina, will embark on a walking challenge. Their original target was to to clock up 200 miles and raise £500 for RSPCA Essex Mid & North Branch. On 11th October, with 177 miles walked, they managed to hit the £500 mark. So, they are now looking to raise an additional £250 (£750 in total) by walking a further 100 miles (300 miles in total)
Megan said, “Milo was a mild-mannered gentleman, whose kind soul shone through, and made him an absolute pleasure to treat.” Megan also spoke about the family’s idea and said “They’re such a lovely bunch. It’s very warming. The fundraiser, ‘Miles For Milo’, couldn’t be more apt. It expresses the depth that his owner, Lena, was prepared to go, to offer Milo the best possible care during his illness. She was ready to go ‘The extra mile’ and made every step count.”
Please show you support by donating here and please feel free to leave messages of support to this fantastic family who despite their grief are doing something amazing to help other local animals and their loving owners.
