We are fundraising to provide essential advice and support for migrants and refugees navigating an increasingly hostile immigration system.
Migrants Organise is raising £3000 to provide frontline advice and emergency support to the people who need it to survive the sharpest edge of government cruelty.
The government is escalating its efforts to punish people for seeking freedom and protection.
Being granted refugee status should bring a sense of relief, but this critical transition period is dangerous for our members facing destitution, homelessness, and retraumatisation due to the government decision to evict newly recognised refugees from accommodation after just 28 days.
But we know that nobody is disposable—and we will keep showing up for our community members when the state lets us down.
That’s why Migrants Organise is raising £3,000 to fund our frontline work:
Here’s the kind of work your donation will support:
The evidence has always been clear: 28 days is simply not long enough for newly recognised refugees to secure housing, financial stability and employment.
Since the policy change in September, our team has stepped in to book over 100 nights of emergency hostel accommodation so that newly recognised refugees do not have to sleep on the street. This is especially important in our work with young people and survivors of war, violence and trafficking.
A donation of £20 covers 1 night of emergency hostel accommodation for a newly recognised refugee who would otherwise be rough sleeping this winter.
In addition to the maze of complex immigration rules, immigration enforcement has spread into everyday experiences: necessary tasks like opening a bank account or registering with the GP have become impossible for many.
Our small but mighty team supports over 1000 people, providing advice on immigration, asylum support, welfare benefits, housing and community care.
A donation of any amount helps us continue to fight structural violence by providing practical support for our members: like helping them open bank accounts, troubleshoot e-visas, and apply for benefits and employment.
While we organise to change unjust systems in the long term, we need to show up for people currently subjected to the hostile environment.
Please donate today to support our frontline work, and please share this page widely—together, we can resource the care and support needed to protect our communities and build our power!
