Aim

Building the Ignis Lodge Midlands Campus to give veterans and care leavers safe homes, skills, work and a brighter future.

Our journey

Ignis Lodge started with a simple belief: no one rebuilding their life should have to do it alone. Over the past year we’ve been designing a new kind of support. Our pathways bring housing, wellbeing, learning and work together in one place for veterans and young people leaving care. Now that work moves into our biggest step yet: creating the Midlands Campus, a rural home where people can finally feel safe, settle, and start again.

Our team comes from public service, education, care, and community leadership. We’ve spent the last year codesigning our services with veterans and care leavers across the West Midlands. It is this lived experiences which shapes everything we do. From how we welcome people on their first day to how we support them into work.

The Midlands Campus builds resilience by combining stability, practical skills and real income opportunities for veterans and young people leaving care. By reducing the stress of unsafe or temporary living, people can plan, budget and make informed decisions rather than operate in crisis. Participants receive coaching on budgeting, bills, payslips, benefits, financial goals and employment rights through e-learning and virtual sessions, with local workshops if stretch funding is reached. Skills are reinforced through working with campus partners. Support is embedded in co-designed transition pathways, with advocacy to navigate housing, welfare and employment systems. People leave with stronger capability and independence.

How you can help us?

This funding today will deliver immediate and longer-term outcomes by enabling training, advocacy and co-design activity with veterans and young people leaving care, while bringing us closer to opening the doors of the Midlands Campus.

Your help today will ensure we can stay on track and that the people who need us most can get the help as soon as possible. This isn’t just about a service or a campus or a pathway; it’s building stability, dignity, and community.
