Empowering 40 females across the Clogher Valley through inclusive fitness and wellbeing activity, supporting healthier and more active lives
Set up during the height of the Covid19 pandemic, our organisation was set up to support people across the Clogher Valley areas of Clogher and Fivemiletown who were in need because of the pandemic.
Our motto is:
Building stronger bodies
Building stronger minds
Building stronger connections
Programmes we are delivering currently include our 2024 Tbuc programme, older persons programmes and community Pharmacy programme.
We have also delivered in the past an out of school Emotional Wellbeing Mental Health Project for Children and Young People. Funded through Telecommunity Fund. The programme was a 10 week out of school Emotional Wellbeing Mental Health Project for 20 Children and Young People aged 8 to 15 (boys and girls) living across the Clogher Valley area.
When we first came together to set up our voluntary organisation, we focused a lot of our work initially in reaching out to those who we knew were living alone and isolated by paying them a visit and supporting them in whatever way we could. We asked them how we could help and we done our best to assist as much as possible.
We began to link with wider community groups locally to provide exercise and wellbeing initiatives to those most in need. Predominately, the support provided over the last few years has been for local families, single parents & children, older people, persons living alone and persons with mobility issues / disabilities.
Our overall objectives as a community voluntary organisation as per our Constitution is to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Mid Ulster (particularly across the Clogher Valley region) and its environs without the distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion by promotion of wellness, through assistance with participation in health, wellbeing and sporting programmes, with the object of improving the conditions of life for local people. We aim to promote the advancement of education and to stimulate and create interest in wellness for the benefit of the local community across Mid Ulster and Clogher Valley, particularly but not exclusively by: (a) delivering health and wellbeing educational programmes: (b) delivering physical activity programme

We are crowdfunding to deliver a NEW 8 week women and girls fitness introduction programme for those living across the rural Clogher Valley area.
Our programme will conclude by end of March 2026.
Many women and girls locally face barriers to taking part in physical activity, including cost, lack of confidence, limited local provision, and poor access to suitable programmes. Rising living costs have further reduced the ability of families and individuals to pay for fitness classes or travel outside the area.
This funding will allow us to remove financial barriers and provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where women and girls can try fitness for the first time or return after a long break.
The programme will run for 8 weeks- 3 times per week (2 hours per session) and will support participants to improve confidence, fitness levels and overall wellbeing through structured, beginner friendly activity.
Programme delivery is as follows. Note 1 hour each session will include a Womans Fitness and Health expert that participants can engage with and get expert advice from:
Crowdfunding support will cover venue hire, qualified fitness instructors and a qualified womans health and wellbeing expert and project equipment.
This 8 week programme will create a clear pathway for women and girls to become more active, improve health, and feel confident engaging in physical activity within their local rural community.
Our 8 week women and girls fitness introduction programme strongly aligns with Sport NI’s Creating Opportunities programme by delivering a new and additional participation project focused on levelling the playing field for an underrepresented group.
Women and girls in rural areas such as the Clogher Valley face well documented barriers to participation in sport and physical activity, including cost, confidence, lack of local provision, and limited access to beginner friendly programmes. This project directly addresses those barriers by providing free, local, structured fitness opportunities in a safe and supportive environment.
The programme is new and not part of our existing activity. It is specifically designed to engage women and girls who are currently inactive or have dropped out of sport, supporting them to re engage with physical activity at their own pace.
Creating Opportunities aims to connect communities and increase participation, particularly among target groups. Our project does this by bringing women and girls together through inclusive group based fitness, improving physical health while also strengthening social connection and wellbeing.
The programme supports Sport NI’s objective to grow participation by creating clear entry routes into ongoing physical activity. By building confidence, skills and routine over the 8 weeks, participants will be better placed to continue activity locally beyond the programme.
This project represents a practical, community led approach to increasing participation, reducing inequality in access to sport, and ensuring women and girls in rural Mid Ulster have equal opportunity to be active.

All money raised will be spent to deliver our 8 week programme up to March. Here is a further breakdown:

Our programme will have a lasting impact across the Clogher Valley community by supporting women and girls to become more active, confident and connected within their local area. By providing a safe, supportive and beginner friendly environment, the programme helps remove barriers that prevent many females from taking part in physical activity.
Wider benefits include:
Improved Health and Wellbeing
Regular physical activity supports physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence and stress reduction. The programme encourages healthy habits that participants can continue beyond the 8 weeks.
Support for Families
By offering free, local sessions, the programme reduces financial pressure on families and removes the need to travel outside the area to access suitable fitness opportunities.
Reduced Isolation
Group based activity provides an important social outlet for women and girls, helping to reduce isolation and build peer support, particularly in rural communities.
Stronger Community Connections
The programme brings participants together from across the Clogher Valley, supporting inclusion, shared experiences and positive community relationships.
Overall, this initiative is about more than fitness. It creates accessible opportunities for women and girls to improve health, build confidence and feel part of a more active and connected rural community.
