🚮 12-Hour Litter Picking Challenge - 29/08/26🚮
On the 29th August, myself and Michelle from Billingham Tidy Up are joining forces for an incredible 12-hour litter picking challenge to help raise funds for our chosen charity, Macmilllan Cancer Support.
Starting at the top of the Wilderness Road (7am) we are going to head to the Newport Bridge, cross over the Tees and along Haverton Hill as far as the Household Recycling Centre - then head back, finishing back at Total Fitness( finishing at 7pm ). The route is 8.4 miles long. As we litter pick we will recycle as much as we can - cans, plastic bottles and glass, I think the numbers of items recycled at the end will be scary!!! If we finish the route within the 12 hours (doubtful) we will just head into Stockton, litter picking along the way. Not only will we be raising money for charity, we will be raising awareness about the impact of littering, and showing what can be achieved when local people come together for a good cause.

"We think Macmillan is a good charity to raise money for because cancer affects so many people. Macmillan provides emotional, practical and financial support to people living with cancer and their families. The money raised helps fund specialist nurses, support services and advice, making a real difference to people's lives during a very difficult time." - Michelle and Jamie
