Running a half marathon to support creative learning opportunities on the Isle of Mull.
For the past three years, I've had the privilege of working as An Tobar and Mull Theatre's Development Manager. In this role, I've had the opportunity to see just how important our creative learning work is – from our work in assisted living facilities and schools to our Mull Youth Theatre programme and projects for early years. This work brings people together, nurtures confidence, and offers connection.
Growing up in a rural community, I experienced the importance of creative connection and opportunities firsthand. Without the practitioners that went out of their way to provide support and space for the arts, I wouldn't be where I am today. That's why I value my work at AT&MT and want to support a creative programme that fosters wellbeing, inclusion, and confidence. To do this, I've decided to dust off my running shoes and run the Inverness Half Marathon. Every donation will directly support our creative learning programme, making sure that everyone on Mull has the chance to access the arts.
Every donation is hugely appreciated and will also help to boost me through the long months of running ahead!
"The children at Ulva can be reserved, however Andi has a magical effect on them and is able to almost instantly bring them out of their shells so they are all feeling confident and comfortable about participating." – Joint Headteacher of Ulva Primary School
"I have been a member of Mull Youth Arts for 4 years and have loved every minute of it. It is my second family and I have made many friends, shared laughs, and made treasured memories." – Mull Youth Theatre senior member
"Because of Mull's geography and lack of public transport many youngsters have difficulty accessing creative activities in Tobermory. The work has been taken to them through schools and location theatre. This ensures equality of access." – Local community members
"I love my mummy because she brings me to An Tobar." – A three-year-old early learning participant
