Community Center Playground Transformation

Aim

The aim of our project is to transform the existing playground by improving the play feature offering and bringing it up to modern standards

Theres no denying that we have an excellent facility in our community centre and playground. In the late 1960's, this piece of land was a cherry orchard and through the hard work of dedicated local residents, a community centre was born.
Over the years, the centre has been improved beyond recognition. The playground has taken shape, and bit by bit, features have been added to it, with small teams working hard to fundraise for new additions.

Currently, the oldest feature is circa 30 years old
The playground is subject to quarterly and annual inspections and volunteers Neal and John do a fabulous job of the ongoing maintenance.

Monk Fryston Parish Council undertook a residents survey a couple of years ago and the responses indicated that there was a desire for improved play provision in the village.

This project closed unsuccessfully on 23rd November 2025
