Co-op Warm Spaces Funding Boost has provided £2,425 of match funding
Our Project aims to continue to provide a free warm space, reduce loneliness & isolation, improve mental wellbeing and reduce food poverty.
Our fantastic team of friendly staff and volunteers at Merry Go Round Community Ventures work tirelessly to raise funds for local primary schools and more recently, help our community survive the Cost of Living Crisis. We offer a warm and welcoming free space for all, a shoulder to cry on (with free tea, coffee and biscuits!), company for the lonely or isolated, and provide a Community Fridge and Larder to help reduce food poverty and food waste.

We also work in conjunction with our local food bank to provide free clothing, school uniform, shoes and baby equipment to those who cannot afford to buy the items themselves.
In the run up to Christmas we gave out 100's of free items including brand new toys, books, games, advent calendars, chocolate coins, Christmas trees & decorations, wrapping paper, baby clothing and food to those most in need.

Anyone in the community suffering from food poverty, fuel poverty, or loneliness will benefit from our project.
Providing a free warm space and free food will help to prevent the potential health risks associated with fuel and food poverty. The opportunity to socialise with others will improve mental wellbeing for the lonely, plus just being able to speak to someone in confidence and share a problem can dramatically improve a person's mental wellbeing.
The money raised through this project will go towards restocking the community fridge and larder to ensure we have enough food and sanitary products for the increasing amount of people who need it, covering our own rapidly rising energy bills to help keep our warm space open, and to enable us to continue to run our ‘Crisis Fund’ for those struggling to meet their housing costs and may otherwise become homeless.

£2,000 will be spent restocking the community fridge and larder each week, £2,000 will go towards covering our own rapidly rising energy bills to ensure we keep our warm space open and well stocked, and £2,000 will be put into our ‘Crisis Fund’ to enable us to continue to assist those struggling to meet their energy bills or housing costs and may otherwise become unwell or homeless.
Every £ gets doubled!
Every individual contribution (up to £250) to this Crowdfunder will be matched by the Co-op Warm Spaces fund. Just think: you give £10 and we get £20! Please note: the match funding is limited to one contribution per person so please contribute as much as you can in one hit!
The more we raise, the more people we are able to help!
