This project needs 100% of its target
Aim: Addressing well-being issues, combating social isolation, and supporting social prescription and physical health in outdoor environment
In June 2021, I teamed up with two passionate individuals to launch the Merry Moos Farm Project CIC, a not-for-profit care farm with big ambitions and even bigger hearts.
We're fundraising today to cover start-up costs for essential equipment so we can open our gates and begin offering outdoor activities for adults aged 60-85 facing social isolation, physical or learning difficulties, and ex-service personnel. We also support social prescribing.
Plans include a fully accessible market garden, a peaceful wildlife area with native trees and bird boxes, and a welcoming farmhouse where clients and volunteers can relax, connect, and share stories over snacks and drinks.
We’re not here to duplicate services - we’re here to fill a vital gap. Existing mental health services are stretched, and too many people are left behind.
The project will assist the whole of Somerset and once we are up and running the 2 bed annexe on site can be used as a short stay well-being or for holiday's from outside the county.
We will also accept some horses goats chickerns, looking for a forever home starting with Molly and Polly, our two lovable pigs currently being cared for in Devon while they wait for their forever home.
We believe everyone deserves community, nature, and purpose. With your support, Merry Moos can bring that to life.
One in five of us will suffer from a well-being issue in their lives we want to be there to support people.
Join us. Be part of our journey.
