The Prize
Founded in 1946, Mercian Cycles is celebrating its 80th year of making beautiful hand-built bespoke bikes. Mercian wishes to share this celebration with Derby County/Derby County Community Trust, with this one-off special bike to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Derby County's 1975 title win.
This classic road bike is our Superlight model, Mercian's flagship race bike back in the 1970's as it was the lightest frame in our stable.
Decorated in Derby County colours and badges, with the names of the manager and squad wrapped around the seat tube in the Mercian 'barber pole' style, fonts from the 1970's era have been used to complete the classic look of this bike.
This bike is a true one-of-a kind and will look great either on the road or adorning your wall.
The bike is a large size and would cost over £4k to buy.
The Cause
DCCT aims to prove life-changing opportunities to the local community. Our work is vastly wide-ranging, from supporting the health of local children in areas of deprivation, through to creating meaningful experiences for participants who join us with life-limiting conditions.
Whether your first interaction with us is kicking a ball aged 2, or taking part in our fall prevention class at aged 80, our ability to adapt, develop and grow our provision is what allows us to reach so many thousands of people each year.
So, how can you help? Your support and donations will enable us to deliver life changing opportunities for the young through to the elderly, aiming to give them an opportunity to achieve their goals, develop their abilities and become engaged members of the community.
£50 would provide matchday tickets for a family to attend a game at Pride Park Stadium through the Rams Family Fund
£100 would purchase a Rammie’s Special Guest package to allow a child undergoing medical treatment to experience a special matchday
£250 would fund the annual membership of a participant on our cancer rehabilitation activity programme
£500 would allow us to collate a bank of football equipment required by participants from lower income families to take part in competitive fixtures representing Derby County
£1,000 would pay for 100 community meals to be served at Harrison’s Hub
£2,500 would send a participant on a life-changing trip, to experience our Rams in Kenya project as a reward for their efforts in our community.
How to Enter
You can enter the prize draw for just £20 and can purchase a maximum of 5 entries (discounts apply for 3 or 5 entries).
Entries will stay open until 31st July and winners will be contacted on the 1st August. Winners will be invited to the first home game of the season to collect their bike and have pitch side photo's.
