We want to raise money to support the mental health and well being of the young refugees that we work with.
The young people we work with at KRAN have all experienced a level of trauma, whether that happened in their home country, or on the journey here - usually both. It's always been difficult to get them the mental health support that they need but the situation became even more acute during lockdown. And with the Taliban taking control of Afghanistan there is a real and urgent need to support the young people we work with from that country who are all desperately worried about the fate of friends and family.
Any money raised will go either towards therapeutic activities designed to support mental health and well being, or specialised mental health support provision for those who are more severely impacted.
Kent Refugee Action Network (KRAN) is a registered charity and we have an eighteen year track record in providing high quality support to young people from refugee backgrounds.
All money raised in this crowdfunder will go directly to supporting the health and well being of the young refugees that we are proud to support.
Our youth panel, made up of young people with lived experience of being a refugee, feed into what we do and our projects are co-designed with them.
