We are looking for your support to build the DEpressON app to help people and their families with mental health support.

My name's Colin Radcliffe, and our goal at DE-press-ON is ambitious, but we feel essential, to revolutionise the way we manage our mental health, to provide access to a 24x7 support structure and resources, and to help save lives. Two and half years ago, I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety; at first, I turned down any offers of support, both medical and therapy. I decided I could deal with issues myself, after all, it was all just in my head, wasn't it? At the time, I didn't understand what depression or anxiety was, but I was fully aware of the stigma attached to these invisible illnesses. That lack of understanding and the fear of admitting these conditions lead to a motorway bridge. I couldn't cope with the feeling that I was letting down my friends and family. I couldn't cope with the fact that allowing myself to succumb to these invisible conditions, made me feel weak.

On that day, on that bridge, in my mind, I decided to end all the pain. I was lucky that day, the strength of love for my family walked me away from from that bridge, and with the support and understanding of my family and friends, my journey took a new, amazing turn. That's where our adventure began.
1 in 6 of us will experience some sort of mental health crisis in our lifetime, and 1 in 5 of us will consider suicide. Mental health services continue to be cut back, and an ever-increasing mental health crisis seems to loom nearer. It can feel like there's nowhere to turn when we need help or see someone we care about in a mental health crisis. With DE-press-ON We want to give control back to you, to provide you with the tools to help you manage your own mental health as well as providing a support network and resources to bring peace of mind and security at times when you're not doing so well. The change we want to bring about is to allow people, through the DE-press-ON app, to treat your mental health like your physical health. Just like you'd use a heart monitor or a Fitbit, we want to give you the means by which you can take control and monitor your mental health and be there for your loved ones as part of their support network.

You can see what we've been working on by watching the video above or you can visit this link. We've taken a radically different approach to other apps currently available. For the last two years we've not just consulted with doctors, therapists, charities and mental health organisations but listened to those both with mental health issues and the people in their support network to create something that can be used no matter where in the support network you happen to find yourself.
This is just the beginning of the vision; we intend to continue to change and evolve. "This isn't my app; it's ours. Finally, we want to save lives." - Colin Radcliffe
Deaths amongst children is at an all-time high, tripling in the last decade. The single largest killer of men aged under 45 is suicide, but suicide rarely happens in isolation or without some notice, and we want to provide you with the tools you need to monitor your own state of mind as well as allowing your chosen support network to see how you feel day to day and should the worse happen, should that mental health crisis materialise for you or a loved one, we want to give you the facility to act fast, to intervene, to reach out, to be an emergency service to help protect the vulnerable and to save lives.
The last two years have been an incredible journey, we've got support from many organisations and individuals, and we've achieved a great deal. We now have the technology on which to build the app and feel confident in making the final push to release the app, which is where we need your help.

We're looking to raise £100,000 to enable us to finalise our vision and deliver our promise of changing things.
Together we can make a difference, together we can help ourselves and each other, together we can save lives and bring a change to the way mental health is perceived.

We'd like to introduce you to one of our ambassadors, Leon the Pig Farmer, a performing poet and writer, who has offered his talents as a reward to our most generous supporters!
