Aim

We are raising money to replace our worn out and outdated nets with a new high quality, 2 lane facility.

Who are we?

We at Meltham CC run 2 senior teams, 5 Junior teams ranging from u9's through to u17's and a ladies team. We recently celebrated our 150th anniversary and we need to keep moving with the times.

As an organisation who entirely relies on fund-raising and sponsorships to stay afloat, we are finding it harder than ever to provide and improve practice facilities to enable participation in the sport. Modernising our facilities will allow us to continue to be an active member of Meltham's network long in to the future, allowing future generations of local people to have an active and fulfilling place in their community. We have been ambitious in expanding our offering to include a women and girl's team recently, which has been a huge success, with our team winning the league each year in their first two seasons and also reaching the regional finals tournament.

Community impact

Currently our facilities are used by approximately 100 people every year, we know that by improving facilities we can not only keep current members of the community playing and engaging in sport, but also encourage new participation in our club and therefore community.

Why are we crowdfunding?

As mentioned before it is essential that we as a cricket club can continue to serve our community in the best way possible and right now we have decided the most influential way to improve the facilities we have is to renew our all weather cricket nets. These facilities are expensive and, as a club without our own bar, our only income is via sponsorships and fundraising. These constraints make it difficult to get the money together to spend on such a big project, which is why we've turned to crowdfunding.

We are absolutely confident that the initial capital expense will be quickly worth it. The new nets will allow all members of the community to practice be it with friends, parents, teams or through more formal 1-2-1 coaching sessions.

This new facility will be essential for sparking a love for cricket and physical activity in general, providing somewhere for health and wellbeing to be prioritised in all weathers.

How we’ll spend the money raised

2x Test grade woven matting

2x Shock pad underlay

Run up matting

35.135 m3 6mm dust to granite

2x Suspension wire kit

23 150mm x 150mm x 4.2m fence posts

2x Enclosed Cricket nets

The money raised will go towards the construction of the project. We are fortunate to have the many hands willing to help build the facility within the club, which will help reduce costs on labour. There is a large amount of work to do, from clearing and levelling the site, relaying the footpath and the building of new retaining walls.

If we were to have any additional funds left over at the end of the project we will reinvest it in other facilities.
