That’s right - the meerkat is out of the bag! You could WIN a once-in-a-lifetime Meerkat & Mates Moment for you and three guests (aged 5+). Go behind the scenes at Edinburgh Zoo to meet the mischievous meerkats and many other amazing animals.
We’re teaming up with Edinburgh Zoo to bring a mob of meerkats to live at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People as part of our extensive learning and discovery experience – the first project of its kind outside of Australia.
To celebrate, we’re offering YOU the chance to win a Meerkat & Mates Moment for four people. You and three lucky guests could have the opportunity to get up close to these cheeky creatures, go inside their enclosure, feed them and learn all about their lives from their enthusiastic keeper.
Every year, every day, every hour, ECHC works tirelessly to provide seriously ill babies, children and young people with that something extra they deserve. Could you help us to bring children in hospital this extra special opportunity to engage with animals by entering our prize draw?
Enter for just £5 and you could win this not-to-be-missed moment. While our wonderful NHS colleagues provide world class medical treatment and care, your donation will provide education, fun and distraction by bringing the wonder of nature, wildlife and the environment to children in hospital through the very best teachers – the meerkats themselves!
The prize
For just £5 you can win a unique, once in a lifetime prize for you and three loved ones (aged 5+) behind the scenes at Edinburgh Zoo meeting the mischievous meerkats and many other animals.
Get up close with this gregarious gang of meerkats. You and your guests will help expert keepers feed them special treats while finding out all about the species. These endearing animals are extremely lively and love to scamper around, so you’ll also have the chance to make some enrichment items and watch as they play with them.
After a morning refreshment break, you can then enjoy a personally guided tour with Edinburgh Zoo’s CEO David Field, who will take you to meet some of the other fun and friendly residents! Fancy getting up close with our armadillos, learning amongst the lemurs and playing with the penguins? David knows so much about these animals so you’ll get a real insight into their lives.
Your exclusive tour will finish with a special lunch, and then you and your loved ones can spend the rest of your day exploring Edinburgh Zoo. With a gift voucher for the zoo shop, you can take home a souvenir to remember your day. This prize will be an experience you’ll treasure forever, and you can share your memories of the day over dinner at Ox and Finch or Ka Pao (you choose!) – on us, with a voucher for £150.
Prize components:
Date of visit to be arranged at a mutually convenient time
Participants need to be aged 5+ to feed the animals
Arrival from 9am at the members gate
Meerkat experience with the keeper, going inside the enclosure and taking part in a scatter feed, with the opportunity to make an enrichment item and watch them play
Voucher for mid-morning refreshments in the Penguin Café
Guided tour of other fun and friendly animals with David Field, with opportunities to go inside their enclosure and feed them
Voucher for lunch in the Gannet restaurant
