We are upgrading our systems at MediCinema and need to raise £2,500 to purchase equipment for our patients with sight and hearing impairment. We have set a target of £2,500 for our Prize Draw, where 100% of those donations goes towards funding this. All funds raised above £2,500 will be used towards the running costs of our cinema sites – keeping them free of charge for all NHS patients and families.

We are upgrading our systems at MediCinema, and you can help us with this! We wish to raise £2,500 towards the purchase of equipment for our patients with sight and hearing impairment.
MediCinema builds and operates cinemas inside NHS hospitals. They give patients the opportunity to leave the stress and isolation of the wards for the shared experience of watching film with others, while being looked after by our nurses and volunteers. Our cinemas enrich the quality of life for those in hospital and no one should be excluded from that experience, thus MediCinema’s commitment to support our patients with sensory impairments with the very latest accessibility equipment the industry has to offer.
Our objective is to purchase and install the new Dolby Accessibility Solution (DAS) units across our MediCinema locations in London, Newcastle, Glasgow and Newport (Wales), in NHS facilities by December 2023. The technology is a state-of-the-art solution that integrates hearing impaired (HI) amplified audio, visually impaired narrative (VI-N) audio, and closed captions (CC) in real time on a single dedicated receiver that patient controls from their cinema seat.
Any funds raised above £2,500 will be used towards the running costs of our cinema sites – keeping them free of charge for all NHS patients and families.

- Each £5 donation will act as an entry into the prize draw. You can also purchase ticket bundles from our reward list.
- You may make several paid entries to the prize draw but only one prize will be awarded for each person. This is in the interest of fairness.

- We will try our best to accommodate entrants' prize preferences but please understand that this will not always be possible.
- Gifts cannot be resold but you are allowed to re-gift your prize as a present to someone else.
- The prize draw will close on 17/10/2023 and the winner will be randomly selected through a live draw performed by a computer process.
- We will have a recorded and witnessed draw to comply with the Fundraising Code of Practice.
- Please note that some gifts will not be available for use until 2024 and others will have expiration dates. In all instances that will be relayed to you by MediCinema or a third party.
- The winner will be notified by email (using details provided at entry) up to 10 working days after the Draw Date. If a winner does not respond to us within 15 days of being notified by us, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and we will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
- By entering the draw, you give MediCinema consent to contact you about the draw and other fundraising activities. You can opt-out at any point.
- We must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid prize draw took place. It is therefore a condition of entry that the winners agree to their name and county of residence being made publicly available if they win. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, you should contact [email protected]. In such circumstances, we must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
- You are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. We reserve the right to refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
- We reserve the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the campaign where it becomes necessary to do so.
- All entries must be submitted via crowdfunder.co.uk or by sending a A4 with your name, email address, postal address and contact number to: MediCinema, Conybeare House, London, SE1 9RT.
- The prize draw is free to enter by post but please note that this only gives each individual one entry, not matter how times they post.
- In so far as is permitted by law, MediCinema will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize. Your statutory rights are not affected.
- Entries received after the closing date will not be entered into the prize draw.
- You must be 18+ to enter the prize draw. By entering the draw you are confirming that you are over the permitted age.
- MediCinema employees are excluded from participating in the prize draw.
