Aim

Help launch five NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET Action Hubs across the UK. Empowering local music communities to take positive action.

Music Declares Emergency is raising £15,000 to launch three Action Hubs across the UK in 2026. Community-powered spaces where music, creativity and climate action come together. We’ve already raised 25% of our goal through t-shirt sales. Now we’re asking for the final bit of help bring the hubs to life.

Music and community have always been powerful forces for change. Music Declares Emergency has spent the last five years proving that. From the global impact of NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET to thousands of artists, venues and fans joining the call for climate action.

Now we’re taking a next step.

In 2026, we’re piloting five NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET Action Hubs across the UK, in partnership with Music Venue Trust. These hubs will be rooted in grassroots music venues and shaped by local communities. Their mission is simple:
bring people together, strengthen communities, and ignite change through creativity and culture.

  • The goals of the NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET Action Hubs are:
    • Have support to run community workshops, creative sessions and events
    • Train volunteers and build local climate leadership
    • Support local artists and venues to engage in direct action
    • Offer welcoming spaces for people to learn, connect and take positive steps together
  • Building local community across genres, generations and divides. Using music as a connecting tool.

To make this happen, we need to raise £15,000 — and we’ve already reached 25% through the sale of 3 new t-shirt designs from Anthony Burrill. This crowdfunder will take us the rest of the way.

Where your money goes

Every donation directly funds the launch of these hubs. Here’s what your support will unlock:

£100 — Funds a Hub Coordinator to attend an MDE training day to plan local activations.
£500 — Provides on-site training for each hub, ensuring they members feel confident and supported.
£1,000 — Produces campaign materials for each hub.
£2,000 — Builds an early-activation fund so each hub can host its first community events.

Why now?

Communities everywhere are grappling with fear, division and climate anxiety. HOPE OVER FEAR is our answer - rooted in the belief that people feel stronger when they’re connected and that music is one of our greatest tools to spark that connection.

These hubs will become places where hope is practical, shared and energising.
