We're still collecting donations
On the 28th March 2024 we'd raised £55 with 4 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 28th March 2024 we'd raised £55 with 4 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Hello there, we're Susan and Neva and we previously worked for a small maths charity called Maths on Toast. Sadly, the charity announced it would be closing at the end of February 2024 and we've been overwhelmed by the responses we've received from families, schools, partner organisations and supporters following this announcement. Nobody wants the positivity, creativity and fun we have created around maths to come to an end - and neither do we. We want everyone to discover how to 'play' with maths, to see it as something that YOU can do and more importantly, enjoy!
So, with your support, we plan to set up a community interest company called Mathematicats, continuing the vision of Maths on Toast, to help everyone feel more positive about maths. We’ll create free resources for children to show how much fun, maths can be; help parents to feel more confident about supporting their child's maths learning at home; deliver workshops at events across the UK and offer live sessions for schools as part of Maths Weeks.
We'll use the money to register as a CIC, set up a website and work on the first batch of resources, to include instructional sheets, templates, example creations and videos. We're keen to deliver a free live after-school workshop every week beginning in March 2024. Each recorded session will be uploaded to YouTube for anyone unable to attend, forming a library of content for families, community practitioners and educators to access. We very much hope to develop an accredited training programme which will enable practitioners to learn about our approach, build their own confidence and deliver free fun maths sessions in their own settings. We would love to do something similar for parents too!
The money raised will allow us to work on the development of these resources and attend events whilst we apply for funding to continue long into the future as Mathematicats. We would love for this to become our full time jobs! Any extra funds will be used for us to deliver free face-to-face sessions in London and the Midlands (currently, as that's where we live).
Thank you so much for your support!
