Math Campbell-Sturgess SNP By-Election Candidate for Helensburgh & Lomond South
We Need YOUR Help!
With much of the attention rightly on the Scottish Parliament elections this May, by-elections often get little notice - or funding - but this is precisely why we need your help! Following the sad death of Councillor Ellen Morton, who served the ward for many years, the by-election on March 18th is critical not only for the SNP Council Group on Argyll & Bute Council, but also the Holyrood election campaign - other parties will be trying to use a"good" result for them to boost their chances of winning back a seat from the SNP or clinging on to one.
About Math
I am no stranger to electoral politics or being a Councillor. I was elected in 2012 and served 5 years as a Cllr before moving to the Helensburgh area. I'm also the founder of English Scots for YES, an organisation known to many SNP members across the country for the work done during the 2014 independence referendum. An experienced candidate and hard-working campaigner, I am ready to serve from Day One if we win this seat- but do that we need a little support from you.
What do we need?
Council by-elections often have quite low turnout - so an effective Get Out The Vote campaign is critical for us to maximise our vote - but doing that during the COVID-19 pandemic is not easy - or cheap!
We need your help to pay for the extra delivery costs, postage and assorted costs that normally we count on the hard work of volunteers for - volunteers who are now unable to go out and campaign on the run as we normally would.
Please Note - electoral law requires that if you are kind enough to donate £50 or over to the campaign, your name and address will be checked against the electoral register to ensure that you are eligible to donate. Your name, but not your address, will be made available by the Electoral Commission on request after the election.
I am not able, by law, to accept donations of more than £50 from individuals who are not on the UK electoral register.
