Aim

To continue my masters at the Royal Northern College of Music - I am looking to raise money to help pay tuition.

Hi all,

For those who don't already know me, my name is Eden and I am a Manchester born Tenor currently studying on the Masters of Music course at the Royal Northern College of Music, in the school of Vocal Studies and Opera.

Summary of my musical journey -

My life as a musician started at age 6, where I started as a violinist. I played the violin up until I found singing at age 14. I started at first singing pop and musical theatre until I was at sixth form, where I fell in love with classical music all over again through my colleges chamber choir. I have always been inspired by my teachers,  my singing teacher at the time Tom Hopkinson inspired me to open my horizons, and after a gap year I got a place onto the Vocal Performance Course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS).

My time at RCS was an extremely fruitful time with my development. Whilst there, I  studied with Iain Paton and won both the Molly Robb and Agnes Miller Prizes.  Some of my singing highlights during my time in RCS was performing in a solo quartet for the 2023 BBC Christmas Broadcasting, Working with the Cumnock Tryst, and performing Evangelist in St Johns Passion at Glasgow Cathedral. As well as these opportunities in College, I also was fortunate enough to work professionally as a chorus member for Scottish Opera (Oedipus Rex, 2024) and Grange Park Opera (Simon Boccanegra, Mazeppa, & Madama Butterfly, 2025). As a soloist, I also sung as tenor soloist for RSNO Chorus, Ayr Choral Union, Edinburgh Royal Choral Union, & the Rosenethe Singers. As well as this I was able to keep my love for choral music alive by being a choral scholar for St Bride’s Scottish Episcopal Church, Hyndland, under the direction of Alan Tavener, BEM.

As well as a singer, I am also a choral conductor. This started during my gap year before studying at RCS. I was the director of the sixth form chamber choir. In Glasgow, I was the musical director a chamber choir named the Awen Ensemble. I also was the assistant conductor of Ayr Choral Union and then with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO), I was the Alexander Gibson Fellow for choral conductors.

Reason to crowdfund -

When I started at RNCM I was relying on some funding to pay my tuition fees which unfortunately fell through leaving me at a deficit of £8,415. I am seeking funding through a different source which will leave the remaining about at around the £4,000 mark.

I wouldn’t be seeking to crowdfund unless it was a last resort. This is because I am care experienced and an estranged young person. My mother sadly passed away on 2017 and my dad was then hospitalised in 2019, leaving him paralysed and has been hospitalised ever since.

Any support to this would be appreciated hugely and even if you can only give £1 - it all adds up!
