Aim: To give children and young people hands-on experience in carnival culture by providing hands-on behind the scenes experience

Our programme offers children and young people hands-on experience in the vibrant world of carnival culture by providing an inside look at the behind-the-scenes work involved in running a Mas band. Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, build confidence, develop new skills, and deepen their understanding of the rich cultural connections between Africa and the Caribbean. Through active involvement, young people will celebrate and preserve this dynamic cultural heritage while fostering creativity, teamwork, and leadership.

Our programme is designed for children and young people aged 9 and up who have interests in:

- Costume design and fashion

- Creative arts and visual expression

- Photography and videography

- Event management and organization

- Dance, performance, and movement

- Cultural heritage and traditions

Participants will primarily come from the African and Caribbean diaspora or individuals with a strong interest in these cultural spaces. The programme aims to engage youth passionate about exploring and celebrating their cultural roots through hands-on experience and creative collaboration.
