Help bring Marta’s to life, a neighborhood bakery serving New York-style cookies, soft serve ice cream and celebration cakes

Almost 7 years ago, Marta and the Muffins began in my home kitchen with one simple goal: to make really good cakes and brownies that brought people together.

What started as a small passion project quickly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined. From my kitchen, I moved into my own cake studio, started trading at markets across South East London, created thousands of celebration cakes, and built an amazing community of customers who have supported me every step of the way.

Over the years, the business has evolved. While cakes will always have a special place in my heart, you’ve probably noticed that my love for New York-style cookies has taken centre stage. Seeing people queue for my cookies at markets made me realise there was an opportunity to create something even bigger.

That’s why Marta and the Muffins is becoming Marta’s.

This isn’t just a new name, it’s a new chapter.

Marta’s will be a neighbourhood bakery specialising in freshly baked New York-style stuffed cookies, soft serve ice cream and celebration cakes. A place where people can treat themselves to a warm cookie, celebrate life’s special moments, or simply stop by because it feels like home.

Four months ago, I made an offer on my dream shop, in Nunhead. It was accepted, and after months of waiting for the legal process, we’re getting closer to making it a reality.

At the same time, I’m having to leave my current cake studio before I even have the keys to the new bakery. It’s a leap of faith, and if I’m honest, it’s both exciting and terrifying.

Opening a bakery takes more than passion. It takes investment. The space needs renovating, equipment needs installing, and every detail needs to come together before we can open the doors.

That’s why I’m asking for your help.

Instead of turning to investors, I want to build Marta’s with the people who have believed in me from the very beginning. Every cookie you’ve bought, every birthday cake you’ve ordered, every recommendation you’ve made has helped me get to this point.
