Aim
We need your help to expand Marley’s Bakery by opening Barnet’s first dedicated 100% Gluten Free kitchen!
Hi, I’m Sophie the founder of Marley’s Bakery. I opened the doors to Barnet’s happy place on 1st July 2023 and it has been full of joy, good vibes and delicious home baked cakes ever since!
The bakery has been my dream since I was 14 years old but I never realised just how special Marley’s Bakery would be! It has become the community hub of Barnet and a true hidden gem.
Named after my daughter, Marley (who is the sweetest…most of the time!), the bakery was built with love, warmth and a little bit of personality at its heart.
But the main reason I wanted to bake delicious home baked cakes is the love of tea and cake that my mum and I have always shared, we often used to say on a Sunday afternoon “where can we go for a nice tea and homemade cake?” and it was very hard to find! Especially with my mum being coeliac.. sadly she would only have the option (if she was lucky) of a processed, pre packaged gluten free brownie!
So with that.. I opened the doors with the aim of always having ‘free from’ bakes so no one ever felt left out!
We were completely blown away by the amazing response of our gluten free bakes from day one as well as the high demand and gratitude that comes from the gluten free community!
We are now going into our 3rd year of business and it’s time to expand! We want to create a fully gluten free baking space in a separate kitchen so everyone (especially coeliacs) can enjoy delicious treats without the worry!
We will be able to stock Marley’s Bakery counter with lots more gluten free treats, as well as having the space to pack more postal boxes so we can spread the joy nationwide and being able to offer more wholesale opportunities to other cafes and coffee shops making sure there is always something delicious for everyone! We also want this space to be a collection point for gluten free orders, birthday cakes, cupcakes and more.
