Aim

A memorial plaque for Mark Ashton (founder of LGSM) to be installed above Gays The Word bookshop, London

We want to instal a plaque as a permanent memorial to celebrate the life and achievements of Mark Ashton. It will be placed above Gays The Word bookshop in Marchmont Street, London WC1. Amongst his many achievements Mark was the founder of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners as immortalised in the movie 'Pride' (Pathé 2014). We need to raise £2,000 for the cost of making and installing the plaque. We aim to unveil it on 19th May 2017.

Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners is initiating this project.

This project successfully funded on 27th February 2017
