A film about love, loss and the realities we inhabit, exploring memory, secrecy and the unseen dimensions of time.

A woman discovers a startling secret about her old-time love, but it begs the question as to whether it is all in her mind or an alternate universe altogether.

🎬 The Film
Margot is a film about love, loss, memory, and the versions of ourselves we create to survive them. It moves between different timelines and realities, following Margot as she experiences her life not as a linear story, but as a collection of memories, possibilities, and parallel versions of herself. We’re making a film that asks the audience to question what is memory, what is reality, and how much of ourselves exists somewhere between the two.

⏳ The Visual Language: Bending Time and Reality
Stylistically, the film will move in and out of time. Sepia tones will give way to vivid technicolour depending on the clarity and intensity of Margot’s world, while costume, hair, props, lighting, and subtle changes within the same location will suggest different periods and realities.
A room may remain physically the same while slowly gathering dust and changing around her. Facial lines can appear, disappear, and shift; furniture and objects can subtly transform; lighting can move through different seasons and times of day. These details allow the audience to piece together Margot’s experience alongside her.

🖤 The Heart of the Story: To Be Seen
At its heart, Margot is about wanting to be seen-even if the only person capable of truly seeing us is ourselves. It explores the secrets we keep, how they reshape our memories, and how love, loss and sacrifice can alter our perception of the lives we have lived and the lives we might have lived.

🚀 Production Roadmap: The Stages of Creation
Following our initial preliminary shoot, the creative world of Margot has naturally expanded. Since investing our early funding directly onto the screen, the narrative scope has deepened, and we are now moving into our next finishing phase of fundraising.
This further support will allow us to complete the house and therapy scenes, bringing in additional crew, hiring the necessary equipment, and incorporating a real-life baby into the cast.
Additional funding will also allow us to shoot the wartime sections of the film. This stage requires additional actors and supporting artists, a period-appropriate 1940s location, and production costs.

🤝 Your Impact & Giving Back
Every contribution will go directly towards bringing these worlds to life-expanding the cast and crew, securing locations and equipment, and giving us the time and resources to realise the visual language of Margot properly.
And as the film deals with themes of loss and survival, we will be donating a portion of the profits to UK charities dedicated to supporting individuals and families navigating these themes.
