MARC Needs a New Risograph Machine!

MARC (Manchester Area Resource Centre) your not-for-profit, community-owned, environmentally-friendly print shop, is looking to upgrade.

As part of our ethical, eco outlook, we use our machines until they break. This means we have been printing our Risograph jobs on a single drum machine for years, running multiple coloured jobs through individually, and leaving them to dry between layers (not sure what a Risograph is? visit www.marctheprinters.co.uk )

As we approach our 50th birthday (What an institution we are!) the perfect present would be a new 2-drum Risograph machine - increasing productivity four-fold, ridding us of those annoying track-marks, and saving our beleaguered colleague Colin days of by-hand effort.  Don't worry, it would still use the same great vegetable inks on our recycled stock :)

We serve our community through our famous Risograph Workshops - teaching individuals or groups how to create and print their own work.
Risograph is the most environmentally friendly and cost-effective print method, meaning it is popular with many groups organising for change, including charities, the voluntary sector and like-minded individuals.

We have suffered our share of potential disasters. Funding cuts, unscrupulous landlords, not to mention the trials everyone faced with weathering the Covid storm, etc - but with the help of our loyal supporters, we have always managed to struggle on!
We would love to face our half-centenary celebrations with new strength -ready to keep printing for the next 50 years!

Of course, you know that anything you can donate to MARC will be well-spent. We are a multi-stakeholder Co-op and, as such, pay no dividends to shareholders. No bosses, just a bunch of workers serving the community.
