Help Sunshine & Smiles do their amazing work

Our eldest son Alby is 9 years old and has Down Syndrome. Like many children his age he is energetic and loves being active. Mainstream groups and activities are not accessible to him as they do not allow for the pace at which he learns.

Sunshine & Smiles offer a range of groups and activities specifically for children with Down Syndrome, the only organisation in Leeds to do so. Alby has been able to participate in swimming, football, cycling, dance and music, and in doing so has developed not only his physical skills but also his social and teamwork skills.

To help contine this great work, I am running the Great Nort Run on September 11th.

Any funds raised will help us to continue our existing sessions as Sunshine families can access all the activities free of charge - but hopefully we can also add to the activities we offer! Run club, triathlon club, there is so much we would like to offer and to make sure that children and young people with Down syndrome have the same access to sports and healthy activities just like anyone else.

If we reach a combined fundraising total of £5000 via our Sports Sessions Crowdfunder than British Airways with match the £5000 that we raise, taking our total to £10,000. So please do donate if you can!
