We are completing a 12-hour marathon fence to raise money for local charities, repair recent damaged equipment and improve our outreach
Newcastle Fencing and Sports Trust is a charity that provides fencing, shooting and modern pentathlon coaching from the beginner level to international athletes across multiple age groups from under 11's to veterans.
Newcastle University fencing club is the home club of Newcastle University, comprised of students across a range ability levels from beginners to international athletes. The club represents the university competing in individual and inter-university competitions.
Newcastle University fencing club are crowdfunding in partnership with Newcastle Fencing and Sports Trust to raise much needed funds, following recent flood damage to the facility and expensive equipment. Repair and purchase of new equipment will allow us to continue our usual activities and improve our outreach, encouraging participation in fencing from a range of ability levels and socioeconomic backgrounds.
We are also raising money on behalf of the children’s heart unit fund (CHUF) based at the local Freeman Hospital, as this charity does fantastic life changing work to support patients and their families, alongside supporting the NHS to allow such work to continue.

Newcastle Fencing and Sports Trust delivers activities across a range of user groups from the wider Newcastle area to promote physical and mental wellbeing. Using sport as a life changing intervention the trust has worked with anti-bullying projects, excluded children projects, refugees, military veterans, people with disabilities, as well as numerous other groups.
Support from donors, allowing repair and replacement of damaged equipment and facilities will allow such community outreach and intervention work to continue.
