Aim: MSC needs to replace the 15+ year old electronic timing pads to enable it to continue to hold and run licenced swim meets

Who are we?

Mansfield Swimming Club have been producing competition swimmers for the last 120 years. We are proud to have links to GB Paralympic Swimmers Charlotte Henshaw and Ollie Hynd. We are based at a local pool in Mansfield.
We have approximately 120 swimmers.

We take swimmers from the start of their competition journey all the way through to Saturday night leagues, open meet competitions, all the way up to county, area, and national competitions.

We have also welcomed back swimmers into our masters group, who have returned to competitive swimming in their senior years.

We are one of the top clubs in our local area, with regular success at both individual and club level.

Why are we crowdfunding?

To enable MSC to hold Swim England licenced competition meets we need to use electronic timing pads. Our existing pads are over 15 years old and are in a poor condition and need to be replaced.

If you're applying for extra funding, this is a good place to demonstrate why your project is eligible so refer back to the criteria to help complete this section

How we’ll spend the money raised

The club have researched the cost of the timing pads and they are made by a company in Switzerland and will cost approximately £12,000.

Community impact

If we do not have the correct equipment we cannot hold licenced meets at our home pool which means Mansfield swimmers are restricted in obtaining official licenced times which impacts on them entering other licenced meets where they need to enter official times.

Our club open meet is a significant income generator without which we would not receive enough income to sustain the club.

These licenced events also help to subsidise our training fees for all swimmers within the club.
