Aim

We desperately need your help and support to update and improve our changing rooms to bring them into the 21st century!

Our Aim:

We are hoping to dramatically improve the changing rooms and toilets for the Squash & Tennis sections. These have been largely untouched since the 1980's, and are in desperate need of some updating. To be able to add separate cubicles, heating & modern facilities, and improved access for disabled use is a must, so that all members and visitors can feel comfortable using the showers with privacy.

Covid Secure Changing Rooms:

It has always been recognised that the changing rooms were not in any way covid secure and exposed the greater need for cubicles and screens in the showers with added hand washing and sanitizing facilities in the toilet area. The proposed upgrade would include extra insulation, with the aim of using renewable energy in order to lower our carbon footprint.

The Effects of Covid 19 on Manor Park Club:

The club revenue dropped dramatically from the effects of corona virus, with the club in lockdown for months, and this project is something that can only be achieved by a great fundraising drive. This is where we need you, our brilliant members & local community to help fund this amazing idea.

We have been unable to put various fundraising events on, due to covid restrictions, including dinners, quiz nights & tournaments, so have lost a valuable source of income there as well, so this seems like the perfect choice to raise the much needed money.

About our Sports Club:

Manor Park was founded in 1907, and is a CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club). The club encourages the local community and beyond to play sports here. We have indoor and outdoor tennis, squash, archery, indoor and outdoor bowls and table tennis, played from ages 4-90 years old. The club is also the H & W LTA county centre, and hosts inter-county matches and tournaments, from juniors to seniors, all year round. There is also a highly successful pay and play scheme, for those in the community who are not members.

Manor Park Teams:

Our club has 16 adult tennis teams (ladies, men's and mixed) and various junior teams, all competing in national and county leagues. We also have archery members competing locally and nationally, an array of squash & table tennis teams and indoor and outdoor bowls teams who travel all over the country to play at Manor Park. And of course many intra-club tournaments as well. We are also proud to have the UK national disabled bowls champion as one of our members.

We have a loyal and supportive membership, and always give a warm welcome to new members through the various sports played. There is a lively social scene in the bar, with regular social nights, fun tournaments and fun events both on court and off. Manor Park is way more than just a sports club, it really is a close-knit community.

We have a very active team of coaches, and group and individual coaching takes place for both members and non members of all ages, all the year round for both tennis and squash.

Our work with the community:

Visually Impaired tennis sessions take place on the indoor courts and both, Connect, a local charity, and Malvern Community Action use our facilities. Annual charity tennis tournaments are held and over the years, substantial sums have been raised for a number of charities both national and local.
